How the hell does Steve keep track of all his continuing storylines?? I'm just amazed. But then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised since he manages in his daily life to balance about 10 different artistic careers.
Anyho...
Its Sunday evening and I'm relaxing away before I have to head to the studio to do some work, but I am looking back on a fun last minute evening that I spent on Friday night with my boyfriend Andrew, Steve and Rob. Let me recap...
Started off as a quiet evening, with me mixing up some homemade margaritas at Andrews while he made some tacos. Thought we'd keep the Mexican theme going. One margarita down, two margaritas down, then three margaritas led to some silly Karaoke singing. By this point, Steve had made his way into the Long Beach area, so A and I headed to Rob's latest job, hosting at Mediterranean Cafe. Yeah, Rob also manages about 10 careers at once. Hey! So does Donna! I just realized that I work with some intense multi taskers. I suddenly feel lazy for only having one career at the moment.
Cut to Mediterranean Cafe where Steve is holding court at Rob's bar. Rob is looking stylish in his tropical shirt and off white suit. Kinda like Ricardo Montalban on Fantasy Island. And Steve is looking "casual cool" in his jeans, hip tshirt and sport jacket ensemble. Andrew looks great, as usual in his jeans and long sleeve thermal...and I look like a complete shlub. See, I had no idea we were going out, so I'm in jeans, tank top, fleece and SNEAKERS. Who drinks martinis in sneakers?? So going AGAINST my martini girl look that I normally proudly wear.
But did that stop me from drinking? HELL NO! Now dont forget the 3 margaritas I had earlier, I then proceeded to order a martini, followed by 3 shots of Patron before heading across the street to see a band that Steve insisted we hear play. "Its the Amish Outlaws!", Steve proclaimed. He then waved his hands in the air in excitement and jumped up and down vehemently! Well, that second part is not true but since I'd been drinking so much, he may as well have been screaming like a banshee wearing a clown suit. It was all the same to me after all that liquor.
He seemed excited so across the street we walked (or staggered since Andrew and I were now promptly tanked by this point). We entered this bar filled with the younger generation...you know, folks in their 20's. I should have felt old, but I didnt care. The music was pumpin, The Amish Outlaws were jammin and energy filled the air. This was great! I felt young again!
Andrew headed to the bar and along came a few more drinks. Can ya believe it? Two more drinks went down the hatch just like that! Yeah, I was completely in party mode. We danced like fools and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere up until Andrew turned to me and yelled, "We should go". What?? We were having such a great time! "I wanna go." he yelled over the loud music. And just like that, we were on our way back to his place a few blocks away. What I didnt realize was that the booze had been too much and he wasnt feeling so great. I guess we're not as young as I we'd like to believe. :)
One bagel later to help with the booze processing, and off to bed for a restless nights sleep. Amazingly enough, I felt fine at 9am the next day! Andrew was not feeling so good. Poor thing was tired and out of it. Usually its the other way around for us...I'm the one who is feeling like crap the next day and he's Mr bright eyed and bushy tailed - but this time, no dice.
So there you have it! Just another entry in the lives of some of the crew from The After Party. We know how to have a good time and we are really looking forward to our next taping on May 1st in Long Beach. Hopefully you can join us if you're in the area?? Corbin and Reynolds on May 1st in Long Beach on Long Island at 6pm!!!
